As I live in York, naturally most of my work is based in and around York and nearly always in Yorkshire and the North East.

Logistically it makes sense for me and my clients if I am within an hour or so’s drive of the venue.

Around York I have filmed lots of weddings at Sandburn Hall, The Hospitium, The Merchant Adventurers Hall, The Parsonage in Escrick, Burn Hall Hotel, Aldwark Manor, Hazlewood Castle, Grays Court Inn, Fairfield Manor, Bar 1331 in York, The Grand Hotel in central York, The Pavilion Hotel and many other venues.

I have also shot wedding films in Leeds Cathedral, in Harrogate, in Beverley, in Scarborough and Thirsk plus numerous country churches, hotels and halls in many parts of Yorkshire. Here are a few examples:

  • The Woodman Inn, Huddersfield
  • Rudding Park, Harrogate
  • Skipbridge Country Weddings
  • St Mary's Cathlic Church, Selby
  • Yapham Church
  • Easingwold Methodist Church
  • St Mary's, Oxenhope
  • All Saints Church, Northallerton
  • St Andrews Church, South Otterington
  • Morritt Hotel, Greta Bridge
  • Monk Fryston Hall
  • Cave Castle Hotel, South Cave
  • Woodhill Hall, Otterburn
  • Gomersal Park
  • St Peters Brafferton
  • Cross Butts Stables, Whitby

Here is my first ever wedding video filmed at Hazlewood Castle in between entertaining with close-up magic and recorded on a small hand-held camcorder. I gave this to Clare and Ian for free but it got me thinking about training to do this job properly.

If your venue is a significant distance from York then I may use the RAC mileage calculator to work out petrol costs for the journey but I don't charge extra for travelling time.
